It was during my time working abroad, in a very different industry, that I realized active travel services were more necessary than ever. The "do-it-yourself' establishment had surged to prominence across the world; and this "ease of use" seemed to be the answer (in most peoples' opinion.) What I found, though, was a great absence of service with this option.

Although generally well-traveled, my relatively worldly coworkers were either seeking assistance and ideas from me, or remaining stuck in a travel rut. They seemed unsure of how to get the best vacation in unfamiliar destinations.

Having spent a good amount of time as a paramedic in "less than desirable" locations in the world, I always wanted to spend my vacation time in "most desirable" locations. I found that researching potential vacations was just as enjoyable to me as actually experiencing them.

I found myself telling people how to do the same thing as I was, but it was obvious to me that what they were really wanting was true assistance with research, planning, and someone to handle it all for them. Not that they couldn't, if necessary, but because they knew I could turn the basic into incredible and often, unexpected.
